Nut Shells
Nut shells refer to the hard outer coverings of various nuts, such as almond, walnut, hazelnut, and coconut. Nut shells are considered a valuable feedstock due to their high energy content and availability as a residue of the food processing industry.
They can be used as a renewable fuel for heat and power generation, either directly through combustion or by converting them into pellets or briquettes. Nut shells may also be used for the production of biochar and activated carbon.
