Livestock Manure
Livestock manure covers slurry and all type of wastes coming among others from chicken, pigs and cattle breeding. Livestock manures are produced in large quantities and are often used to fertilise agricultural land. Despite their reduced energy potential when compared to crop by-products, they can be used in biomethanisation to produce energy.
Producing energy
Livestock manure is an attractive raw material for biomethanisation. It produces energy while creating a good quality digestate that can be used as fertiliser afterwards. More marginally, manure can also be used as fuel after compressing and drying in the form of dry briquette.
