Biocoal
Biocoal, also known as torrefied biomass or biochar, is a high-energy-density, carbon-rich fuel produced by heating biomass in an oxygen-limited environment, a process known as torrefaction or pyrolysis.
This treatment enhances the material’s energy content, reduces its moisture content, and improves its combustion properties, making biocoal a more efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fossil coal.
Biocoal is used in various applications, including power generation, industrial heating, and as a raw material for producing activated carbon and other value-added products.
