BECCU
Bioenergy with carbon capture and usage, or BECCU, involves capturing, transporting and using CO2 from processes where biomass is converted into fuels or directly burned to generate energy.
As this carbon has been absorbed by plants from the atmosphere as they grow, it can be used to create new molecule instead of using a carbon that has fossil origin. Those molecules can be fuels for energy in transport or sustainable sources of carbon for other sectors.
