Bioenergy Europe Welcomes Newly Elected Board Members

Brussels, 5 November 2025 — Bioenergy Europe is pleased to announce the election of new members to its Board of Directors, held during the organisation’s General Assembly at the Le Louise Hotel in Brussels, right before the opening of European Bioenergy Future 2025 (EBF2025).

Bioenergy Europe Board: Nicholas Dottino (Graanul Invest), Hannes Tuohiniity (Bioenergia ry - Bioenergy Association of Finland), Gerolf Bücheler (BBE - German Bioenergy Association), Laurent Sessa, (CROBIOM - Croatian Biomass Association), Azadeh Daheshmand (Uniper), Pablo Rodero Masdemont (AVEBIOM - Spanish Biomass Association), Vaness Gallo (FIPER - Italian Federation of Energy Producersfrom Renewable Sources), Christoph Pfemeter (ABA - Austrian Biomass Association), Annalisa Paniz (AIEL - italian Association of Agroforestry Energy), Henrik Brodin (SVEBIO - Swedish Biomass Association), Ieva Medne (LATBIO - Latvian Biomass Association) and Katarzyna Wilk (Drax Group).

The newly elected and re-elected Board members are:

 

·       Christina Ravn, Danish Industry

·       Gerolf Bücheler, German Bioenergy Association (BBE) (re-elected)

·       Laurent Sessa, Croatian Biomass Association (CROBIOM)

·       Pablo Rodero, Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM) (re-elected)

·       Andrew Georgiou, US Industrial Pellet Association (USIPA) (re-elected)

·       Kasia Wilk, Drax Group (re-elected)

 

With a balance of continuity and fresh perspectives, the new Board brings together broad expertise from across Europe’s bioenergy value chain:  from national associations and technology providers to industrial leaders — at a defining moment for Europe’s renewable energy transition.

 

Bioenergy Europe looks forward to working with the new Board to advance sustainable bioenergy, enhance energy security, and accelerate industrial decarbonisation across Europe.
