Bioenergy Europe supports the European Bioeconomy Alliance‘s (EUBA) efforts in shaping the ongoing discussions on the Net Zero Industry Act.
As underscored in the position paper released today, EUBA advocates for the expansion of the list of strategic net-zero industrial activities, with the inclusion of "biomaterials production technologies, including biotech climate and energy solutions/biotechnologies and bio-based chemical production technologies."
Bioenergy playing a pivotal role in the sustainable utilisation of biological residues to meet EU energy, climate and societal needs. By supporting the development and deployment of bioenergy technologies, the bioeconomy can contribute substantially to reducing carbon emissions, fostering circularity, and ensuring a secure and diversified energy supply.
