Bioenergy Europe at Argus Biomass Conference 2024
23-25 April, London
Last week, the Argus Biomass Conference closed its 14th edition. The event is one of the biggest in the global biomass industry, gathering over 450 attendees. Bioenergy Europe joined the conference, represented by Manolis Karampinis, Business Development and Membership Director, and Daniel Reinemann, Senior Policy Officer, contributing to talks on sustainability and joining a debate on forestry and the future of bioenergy on the main stage.
The event opened with the session Sustainability beyond the obvious: How will bioenergy become a widely accepted source of renewable power? Moderated by Daniel Reinemann, the session gathered over 200 delegates and stakeholders from the bioenergy and broader biomass sector. It was a great chance to meet Bioenergy Europe’s members and a great opportunity to connect with other key players in the bioenergy market.
Daniel Reinemann coordinated the Policy Clinic roundtable in the Innovation Zone, which provided a platform for conference attendees to delve deeper into the latest policy developments that are impact the biomass sector, in particular REDIII and EUDR.
On the final day, Manolis Karampinis moderated the session Forestry and the case of sustainable local feedstocks in the Nordics, Baltics and East Europe and took part in the final panel The big debate: Are we headed for a re-brand in the biomass world?, representing Bioenergy Europe alongside World Bioenergy Association and International Biomass Torrefaction and Carbonization Council.
Finally, Bioenergy Europe congratulates Irene di Padua, Bioenergy Europe’s Policy Director, for winning Argus Media Biomass Conference Award for Woman Thought Leadership. Bioenergy Europe is proud to have such a valuable team member.
