The World Bioenergy Association (WBA) has announced its election of Remigijus Lapinskas as president, in effect from 20th June. President Lapinskas succeeds Dr. Heinz Kopetz, who assumes the new role of WBA Senior Consultant.
“AEBIOM is delighted to see Remigijus elected as president for WBA. We wish him the best and are optimistic of the challenges ahead,” said AEBIOM Secretary-General Jean-Marc Jossart. “Lithuania is a key success story for bioenergy in the district heating sector, which is advantageous for us. We are therefore confident President Lapinskas’ expertise in bioenergy and business will make him an outstanding leader.”
President Lapinskas stated he will focus on the development for WBA in three key areas, including continuing the development of WBA as a leading global biomass association, influencing opportunities and services in promising markets, and working towards establishing regional branches globally. For more information on his appointment, see the WBA press release.
