The European Institute for Energy Research was set up by EDF and the KIT in
2002, in order to develop their scientific collaboration through joint projects
applied to industrial issues. EIFER is a leading European research institute
committed to its members and partners in providing research-based innovative
energy solutions for the sustainable growth of cities, local communities and
industries, in the context of the energy transition.

Why did you join AEBIOM?

Since several years, EIFER is a member of AEBIOM and is interested in a
cross-border exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of bioenergy.
The participation in webinars and working groups of AEBIOM allows EIFER to
get some insights into specific topics (such as sustainability of biomass) and to
be up to date regarding the latest developments of the bioenergy market and
new European legislation. As an international research institute, EIFER is
expanding its research network and therefore AEBIOM is a great support, as
they are offering different workshops about ongoing public funded projects. The
network is a great opportunity to be connected with other actors in the bioenergy
sector and to get in touch with potential research partners.
