Back to Event OverviewBioenergy Europe believes that sustainability is a major factor in the development of the bioenergy sector in Europe. Through the WG Sustainability, Bioenergy Europe has formulated inclusive positions advocating in favour of a harmonised EU sustainability policy for solid biomass for heating and electricity production.
Bioenergy Europe’s upcoming Working Group Sustainability meeting on ?️ 04 October, ? 14:00-17:00 CEST will be an opportunity for an in-depth discussion of the Renewable Energy Directive (REDIII) and the recent European Parliament vote and its implications.
We will also discuss what happens next, what we can expect in the inter-institutional trilogue negotiations and where some of the key differences lie between the Council and Parliament's legislative proposals.
There will also be a presentation by Piotr Borkowski, the Executive Director of Eustafor (the European State Forest Association) covering an update of the various forestry files in the Fit-for-55 package such as LULUCF, the Forest Strategy, and the Deforestation Regulation.
