Back to Event OverviewBioenergy Europe believes that sustainability is a major factor in the development of the bioenergy sector in Europe. Through the WG Sustainability, Bioenergy Europe has formulated inclusive positions advocating in favour of a harmonised EU sustainability policy for solid biomass for heating and electricity production.
Given that January and February are a dynamic period in the development of the Fit-for-55 Legislation, the upcoming Working Group Sustainability meeting on 20th January, 14:00-16:45 (CET) will be an opportunity for stocktaking and review of the developments thus far. More specifically, discussions will focus on:
+ Restoring Sustainable Carbon Cycles Initiative
+ Renewable Energy Directive (REDIII)
+ Land-Use, Land-Use Change, and Forestry (LULUCF)Please note this WG is for Bioenergy Europe members, however, observers are welcome at the discretion of Bioenergy Europe. If you wish to participate as an observer please contact the Bioenergy Europe team.
