Events
Back to Event OverviewThis fall, the EU Parliament and Council will advance an ambitious, comprehensive set of legislative actions to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Sustainable forest biomass has underpinned much of the EU’s decarbonization success to date and will play an integral role in the future.
As Europe pushes its climate action ambition further, scaling the biomass industry will be vital to provide dispatchable power and heat today, and industrial decarbonization and negative emissions tomorrow. This will require policymakers to enact durable and consistent policies to support industry growth while ensuring the health of forest ecosystems.
This webinar will facilitate dialogue with the audience on sustainable bioenergy in the context of the Fit for 55 package and its role in achieving the European Green Deal.
Additionally, the panel will discuss biomass as a source of low-carbon heat and its potential to deliver negative emissions through bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS).
