Bio360 Open in Retiers is first and foremost a very welcome and long-awaited opportunity to come together again, after these long months of being cooped up.
Spread over a generous outdoor area of 30 000m2, solutions from agriculture and forestry to address the challenge of climate change are at the heart of Bio360 Open and it is very fitting that the sector will be welcomed this year by the town of Retiers and the local authority of Roche des Fées, a Brittany municipality that is fully committed to the energy transition. Examples from its project portfolio include a brand-new community biomass boiler house as well as an agricultural co-operative biogas installation that will break ground and lay the first foundation stone during the event.
The programme is currently under preparation and more details will follow during May. In the meantime, here is an overview of what is in the pipeline :
- an outdoor exhibition area with individual marquees
- a conference area (french only)
- demonstrations of wood chipping (forestry and agricultural)
- technical visit to the town’s new biomass boiler house (2 x 600kW boilers)
- power generation from 100% biodiesel
- on-site bar and food trucks
- NGV vehicle park
- and more ….
Safety and well being
Ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone coming to Bio360 Open was central to the decision in choosing the Exhibition Park in Retiers. Being an outdoor venue ensures optimum conditions in terms of air flow, the sky being the limit. But not only that, the event will be spread out over 30 000m2 with alleyways 6m wide and marquee stands, all with at least two open sides.
Full details of the Health and Safety code will be published in due course. It will include requirements concerning the health pass that everyone will need to bring and present in order to gain admittance.
Visitor registration will open in early June. Admittance only with prior online registration on conference website.
