Forest residues
Forest residues are leftover materials from forestry operations, including logging, thinning, and pruning activities. These residues typically consist of branches, treetops, leaves, bark, and small trees or shrubs that are not suitable for commercial timber production.
Forest residues are often considered a valuable resource for bioenergy production, as they can be collected and processed into wood chips, pellets, or biochar. Utilizing forest residues for energy helps reduce waste, supports forest management practices, and contributes to substitute fossils fuels in energy production.
